“Hunting Unicorns,” the third single from Jimi Prasad Orchestra’s Raw Tapes debut album “Help With Your Heart,” asks a difficult question: What happens when we seek out beauty — just to destroy it? The Orchestra invited Tel Aviv staple and longtime collaborator KerenDun of Buttering Trio to add lyrics to their hushed, stirring string ballad, elevating the song to a mystical land where unicorns roam. Orchestra namesake Jimi Prasad, also a published philosopher and existential meditation teacher, pushed his band to examine the darker side of mankind’s pursuit of beauty. Set to music — a twirling, nine-count waltz lifted by Avishai Cohen’s trumpet and Yuvi Havkin’s outer-space synthesizer tones — the band’s search for meaning feels vulnerable, honest and effortlessly beautiful itself.
